Turaki Led PDP Faction Joins G-100 All-Opposition Move to Defeat APC in 2027

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) faction loyal to former minister of special duties, and National Chairman, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki SAN, has endorsed the G-100-led initiative to establish an all-opposition political front aimed at challenging the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.
The party, in a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Interim National Working Committee, Comrade Ini Ememobong, said its decision was driven by the need to unite credible political forces in addressing the challenges facing Nigerians.
The PDP said the move was informed by what it described as the “wailings of Nigerians” under the Bola Tinubu-led APC Federal Government, as well as the need for opposition parties and organisations to work together towards what it called the redemption of the country.
The party said its participation in the G-100 process would be guided by principles of transparency, equality, data-driven decision-making and egalitarianism.
According to PDP National Chairman, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, “Our participation is anchored on the promise that the process will be hinged on the philosophical underpinnings of transparency, equality, data-driven decisions and egalitarianism.”
He added that any outcome produced through such a process would provide Nigerians with credible leadership capable of addressing rising poverty and insecurity.
The PDP said the latest development was consistent with its earlier position of working with like-minded political parties and organisations seeking to rescue Nigeria from what it described as the many vices orchestrated by the ruling APC.
The party also confirmed its participation in the first meeting of the G-100 held on August 31, 2026, describing it as further evidence of its readiness to contribute to the formation of an all-opposition platform capable of taking power from the APC and rebuilding the country.
The PDP said the proposed opposition collaboration was ultimately aimed at promoting the interests and welfare of Nigerians.
