The Kebbi State Police Command has intensified its campaign against political and digital thuggery among youths as part of activities marking International Youth Week 2026.
The campaign, themed “My Future Is Greater Than Political and Digital Thuggery,” commenced on August 20, 2026, with the aim of sensitising young people against political manipulation, thuggery and digital incitement.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bashir Usman, made this known in a statement issued on Saturday in Birnin Kebbi.
According to the statement, the initiative also seeks to promote peace, responsible citizenship, and positive youth engagement across Kebbi State.
The Police Command said the campaign would be sustained through continuous lectures and sensitisation sessions by the Police Community Relations Committee (POCACOV), in collaboration with community leaders and youth organisations.
SP Usman noted that as part of the concluding activities, the Command organised a novelty football match between the Police and a youth team in Birnin Kebbi to strengthen police-youth relations through sports and positive interaction
The Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Command, CP Umar Hadejia, commended the youths for their enthusiasm and urged them to resist manipulation and make choices that would safeguard their future.
CP Hadejia reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to building a healthy relationship between the police and young people while harnessing their potential for peace and development in the state.
