Hisbah Frees ‘Munafukan Sokoto’ Group Members After Public Apology

The Sokoto State Hisbah Board has released a group of youths arrested over the formation of a group known as “Munafukan Sokoto” after they expressed remorse and apologized to the people of the state.
According to a statement issued by the Board, the decision followed a meeting involving the youths, their parents, community heads, and Islamic scholars.
The meeting was held at the Hisbah headquarters under the leadership of the Commander of the Sokoto State Hisbah Board, Malam Usman Abdullahi Jatau.
The statement said the youths admitted wrongdoing, expressed deep regret over their actions, and pledged to refrain from any activity capable of causing public concern or disorder.
They also tendered an apology to the people of Sokoto State before they were released by the Board.
The development comes days after the youths circulated a video on social media announcing the formation of a group they called “Munafukan Sokoto ” a move that generated widespread reactions across the state.
