Four New Motor Parks Near Completion in Sokoto — Gov. Ahmed Aliyu
Governor Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State has announced that four new motor parks being constructed by his administration are nearing completion and will soon be put into use.
The governor made this known on Thursday while visiting victims of a recent fire outbreak at the Sokoto Central Motor Park. He said the projects were initiated to address growing congestion in existing parks due to increasing population.
According to him, the fire incident was partly linked to overcrowding at the central motor park,underscoring the need for additional facilities across the metropolis.
Aliyu assured victims of the fire disaster of government support to help them recover their losses and resume business activities. He also urged residents to adhere strictly to safety regulations, particularly in handling inflammable materials, to prevent future occurrences.
Earlier, the State Commissioner for Lands and Housing, Barr. Nasiru Aliyu Dan Tsoho, informed the governor that no lives were lost in the incident, although several properties were destroyed.
The commissioner commended the governor for visitingthe scene, describing the gesture as a demonstration of concern for the welfare of the people.
