APC Presidential Primary: Tinubu Secures 2027 Ticket With Over 10.9 Million Votes

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has emerged victorious in the All Progressive Congress’s nationwide presidential primary after polling an overwhelming majority of votes cast during the exercise.

The result was announced on Sunday by the Chairman of the APC Presidential Primaries Election Committee, Pius Anyim, at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja.

According to the committee, the primary election was conducted across the country’s 8,809 wards and all 774 local government areas through the party’s direct primary system.

Anyim disclosed that the APC recorded 12,643,306 registered party members for the exercise, while 11,069,756 members were accredited to participate in the voting process. He added that a total of 11,015,665 votes were cast nationwide.

Declaring the final results, Anyim said President Tinubu secured 10,999,162 votes to defeat his only challenger, Edo State businessman and APC chieftain, Stanley Osifo, who polled 16,503 votes.

He subsequently declared Tinubu winner of the primary election and returned him as the APC presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections after satisfying the constitutional requirements and guidelines of the party.

The outcome officially positions Tinubu as the ruling party’s flag bearer ahead of the 2027 presidential contest.
