UDUS Dismisses Staff Over Alleged NYSC Mobilisation Fraud
Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto has dismissed a staff member, Malam Garba Ahmed, over alleged misconduct involving the illegal upload of unqualified students for National Youth Service Corps NYSC mobilisation.
The decision was approved at the university’s 176th Governing Council meeting held on April 1, 2026, according to an official statement issued on ThursdayApril 2.
The university said Garba Ahmed, who worked in the Registry Department, was found guilty of breaching institutional procedures by facilitating the mobilisation of students who did not meet the required qualifications for the scheme run by the NYSC.
The statement noted that his dismissal takes immediate effect from the date of the council’s decision.
Reaffirming its stance, the university emphasized that it operates a zerotolerance policy toward acts of serious misconduct, warning that any staff found culpable of similar offences would face strict disciplinary action.
