Sultan Returns to Sokoto Amid Grand Reception
Jubilation filled the air in Sokoto as a large crowd turned out to warmly welcome the Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, following his arrival from Abuja.
The revered monarch touched down at Sadiq Abubakar III International Airport to a rousing reception by well-wishers, traditional title holders, and security personnel. His return, after spending several months away, sparked spontaneous celebrations that reflected the deep affection and respect the people of the state hold for him.
GaskiyaCast gathered that the Sultan’s convoy moved slowly through cheering crowds as he made his way to his residence at the Kanwuri Palace, with the journey reportedly lasting about two hours due to the massive turnout.
The colourful reception underscored the revered monarch’s enduring influence and strong connection with his subjects across Sokoto State.
