Sokoto Govt to Rehabilitate Dilapidated Layin Gidan Bello Dan Baba Road

The Sokoto State Government has announced plans to rehabilitate the dilapidated Layin Gidan Bello Dan Baba Road in Waziri C Ward of Sokoto North Local Government Area.
Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto made the announcement on Saturday evening during a condolence visit to the family of the late popular Islamic singer, Musa Mai Akwai Gidadawa, in the area.
In a statement issued by the Governor’s Spokesperson, Abubakar Bawa, the governor expressed concern over the deplorable condition of the road, assuring residents that his administration would take steps to address the situation.
“I have seen the deplorable condition of this road and, frankly speaking, I am touched by what I saw.
“I assure you that we will soon send a team of engineers to assess the condition of the road and advise the government on the appropriate action to take” Aliyu said.
He noted that the road was important to the socio-economic activities of residents and communities within the area, making its rehabilitation necessary.
According to the governor, his ongoing condolence visits to bereaved families across Sokoto metropolis and other parts of the state had also enabled him to gain first-hand knowledge of challenges confronting various communities.
“We have, through these condolence visits, identified many challenges confronting communities, some of which we have since addressed” he said.
The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving the welfare of residents through people oriented projects and interventions across the state.
He also appealed to the people of Sokoto State to continue supporting and cooperating with his administration in its efforts to deliver development projects and improve living conditions.
