Tambuwal Presents Defected Sokoto PDP Senatorial Candidate Maccido to Atiku
Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, representing Sokoto South Senatorial District and leader of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Sokoto State, has presented former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Sokoto North Senatorial candidate, Senator Ahmad Muhammad Maccido, to the ADC presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

Tambuwal presented Maccido to the former Vice President during a meeting at Atiku’s residence in Abuja following the senator’s decision to withdraw from the 2027 senatorial race on the platform of the PDP and join the ADC.
Maccido, who was the PDP candidate for Sokoto North Senatorial District, recently announced his defection from the party, citing his decision to align with the ADC ahead of the 2027 general elections.

During the meeting, Tambuwal was accompanied by the Deputy Director-General, Administration, of the ADC Presidential Campaign Committee, Hon. Yusuf Suleiman, as well as other ADC leaders and stakeholders from Sokoto State.
The meeting further highlighted the growing realignment of political forces in Sokoto State ahead of the 2027 elections, with the ADC strengthening its structure and attracting prominent political figures from other parties.
