By Fahad Faruk Galadanchi

The Sokoto State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps NYSC, Mr. Tyoyer Gabriel, has led staff and Corps Members on a condolence visit to the family of the late Captain Abubakar Ismaila, who served as Camp Commandant during the 2026 Batch A Stream 1 Orientation Course in the state.

Speaking during the visit, Gabriel described the late Captain Ismaila as a dedicated officer and a hero who died in the service of his fatherland.

The Coordinator said he did not have the opportunity to work directly with the deceased because he had not been posted to Sokoto when Ismaila served as Camp Commandant.

He, however, said his predecessor and other NYSC staff had spoken highly of the late officer, describing him as humble, hardworking, dedicated and committed to his responsibilities.

Gabriel prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive the deceased’s shortcomings and grant him eternal rest, while asking Allah to give the bereaved family the strength and fortitude to cope with the loss.

He also urged members of the delegation, comprising Muslims and Christians, to pray for the repose of the deceased’s soul.

The visit concluded with the presentation of a condolence letter to the deceased’s wife on behalf of the NYSC management, staff and Corps Members in Sokoto State.
