NAHCON Approves Five Airlines for 2027 Hajj Operations
The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has approved five air carriers to transport Nigerian pilgrims for the 2027 Hajj exercise.
The Commission disclosed this in a public notice, stating that the selection followed a rigorous screening and evaluation process conducted by its Aviation Screening Committee.
According to NAHCON, the assessment considered regulatory safety standards, operational capacity and financial requirements. The engagement of the approved carriers is, however, subject to the execution of airlift agreements with the Commission and fulfilment of requirements set by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and the Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA).
The approved carriers are Air Peace Limited, Flynas, Max Air Limited, Saudi Air and UMZA Aviation Services Limited.
NAHCON said passenger allocations and airlift schedules would be developed in collaboration with the respective State Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards, Agencies and Commissions, as well as the selected operators.
The Commission further stated that all carriers must comply with the regulations for the 2027 Hajj, including the issuance of tickets linked to pilgrims’ Nusuk-Masar data and strict adherence to safety requirements.
It also specified the approved baggage allowance of one 32kg checked bag and one 8kg hand luggage, in line with regulatory requirements.
NAHCON called on all stakeholders to cooperate with the approved airlines to ensure a smooth, safe and comfortable airlift operation for Nigerian pilgrims during the 2027 Hajj.
