Macciodo Withdraws from Sokoto North Senatorial Race on PDP Platform

Senator Ahmed Muhammad Macciodo, the PDP candidate for the Sokoto North Senatorial District election, has formally withdrawn his candidacy under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Macciodo conveyed his decision in a letter dated September 30, 2026, addressed to the PDP Chairman in Sokoto State.

In the letter titled “Notice of Voluntary Withdrawal of Senatorial Candidature,” the former PDP candidate said his decision was made voluntarily and of his own free will.

“I hereby formally notify the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) of my voluntary withdrawal from my candidature for the Sokoto North Senatorial District election under the platform of the Party,” he stated.

He requested the party to take note of his withdrawal and process the necessary administrative and electoral documentation accordingly.

Macciodo also expressed appreciation to the PDP leadership, members, supporters and others who supported his candidature.
