Islamic New Year: Tambuwal Calls for Prayers, Unity and Hope Amid Nigeria’s Challenges

Former Sokoto State Governor and Senator representing Sokoto South Senatorial District, Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, CFR, has urged Muslims across Nigeria and the world to use the occasion of the Islamic New Year, 1448AH, to pray for peace, security, unity, and national development.

In a goodwill message marking the commencement of the new Islamic calendar, Tambuwal described the Hijrah as a profound reminder of the virtues of faith, sacrifice, perseverance, and absolute trust in Allah (SWT).

He noted that the beginning of a new Islamic year offers Muslims an opportunity for deep reflection, spiritual renewal, and a recommitment to the values of justice, compassion, and service to humanity.

The former governor encouraged Nigerians not to lose hope despite the numerous challenges facing the country, stressing the importance of remaining steadfast, optimistic, and united in the pursuit of a better future.

According to him, Nigeria can overcome its present difficulties through faith, collective responsibility, and a shared commitment to national progress.

Tambuwal also prayed for Allah’s blessings upon Muslims and all Nigerians, asking that the new year strengthen faith, deepen devotion, foster harmony and mutual understanding, and bring peace, good health, prosperity, and greater opportunities for growth and service.

He wished Muslims a blessed and rewarding Hijrah 1448AH and prayed for continued divine guidance and progress for Nigeria and its people.
