AAC Seeks Tinubu’s Approval to Inaugurate Presidential Campaign Council at Aso Rock

The African Action Congress (AAC) has written to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, seeking approval to hold the inauguration of its Presidential Campaign Council at the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock, Abuja, on November 11, 2026, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a letter dated October 21, 2026, and signed by its National Secretary, Oshiokhue Philip Ikpeminoghena, the party also requested logistical support, including food, drinks and other provisions for participants at the event.
Addressed to President Tinubu, the letter said the request was made in the interest of multiparty democracy, political inclusiveness and equal treatment of political parties.
The AAC argued that granting its request would demonstrate the Presidency’s commitment to fairness and equal access, stressing that public institutions should serve all Nigerians without partisan discrimination.
The party further cited arrangements it said had reportedly been extended to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for a similar political engagement, arguing that opposition parties should enjoy comparable treatment.
The letter also requested information on the applicable procedures and conditions for obtaining approval to hold the ceremony at the Presidential Villa.
The proposed inauguration is part of the AAC’s preparations for the 2027 general elections, as political parties begin organising their campaign structures ahead of the polls.
The party expressed hope that the President would favourably consider its request.
GaskiyaCast reported that Omoloye Sowore is the Presidential Candidate of the AAC in the upcoming general election.
