Sokoto Pilgrims to Begin 2026 Hajj Journey May 11

The Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency has announced that the first batch of intending pilgrims from Sokoto State will depart for the 2026 Hajj exercise on May 11.

The Permanent Secretary of the Agency, Alhaji Ibrahim Umar JJ, made this known during a live phone in programme, Sakkatawa Kwallahiya, on Vision FM.

He disclosed that visas have been secured for all 2,404 intending pilgrims from the state, adding that each of them has completed the mandatory medical screening required by authorities in Saudi Arabia.

Umar also revealed that accommodation has been arranged for the pilgrims in the Masfala District, located close to the Haram in Makkah, to ensure convenience during the pilgrimage.

He reassured pilgrims and their families of the agency’s readiness to ensure a smooth and successful Hajj operation.
