Atiku Launches ‘Ask AA’ Portal for Direct Engagement with Nigerians

By Nafiu Muhammad Lema

Former Vice President and African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has unveiled a citizen-engagement platform, ‘Ask AA’, designed to provide Nigerians with a direct channel to ask questions about his political agenda, public service record and plans for the country.

The platform is scheduled to go live at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 15, 2026.

According to a statement issued by Phrank Shaibu, Director of Strategic Communication for the ADC Presidential Campaign Council, the portal will allow Nigerians to submit questions on key national issues, including the economy, security, technology, job creation and measures to make life more affordable.

Atiku is expected to personally respond to questions submitted through the platform, with members of his media team also assisting in providing answers.

Shaibu said the initiative was designed to strengthen communication between the presidential candidate and the electorate by making information about his policies, proposals and political positions more accessible.

“The objective of this initiative is to bring Atiku Abubakar closer to the electorate through a practical, problem-solving platform,” Shaibu said.

He added that the initiative reflects Atiku’s commitment to using modern technology to make governance more efficient, secure and effective.

The campaign council also disclosed plans to extend access to the platform through a radio interface to reach communities where internet connectivity is limited or unavailable.

Announcing the initiative on his social media accounts, Atiku described leadership as a two-way conversation, stressing the need to break down barriers between political leaders and citizens.

“For too long, governance has felt distant—locked behind walls of bureaucracy. But our country’s greatest resource isn’t oil or land; it is our people,” he said.

“If we are going to build the Nigeria of our dreams, we must start by tearing down the walls between leaders and the people.”

The former vice president said Ask AA was created to promote transparency, accountability and dialogue, encouraging Nigerians to question his economic record, examine his policy proposals and contribute ideas towards national development.

“That is why I am launching Ask AA—a direct citizen-engagement platform built for transparency, accountability and dialogue. No filters, no intermediaries,” Atiku stated.

He urged Nigerians to use the platform to raise concerns, scrutinise his policy positions and offer recommendations on how to address the country’s challenges.

“Whether you want to question my economic record, discuss my policy plans for technology, security and job creation, or share your own recommendations for national progress, nothing is off the table,” he said.

“I want to hear your questions, your policy critiques and your best ideas.”

Atiku further disclosed that he would personally telephone selected participants who provide their contact details on the platform, allowing him to hear directly about their experiences and the challenges affecting their daily lives.

“Beyond answering questions here, I will personally call selected citizens who leave their contact details so I can hear directly about their experiences and the issues affecting their daily lives,” he added.

According to him, the initiative demonstrates that technology-driven and transparent governance should begin with how leaders listen to citizens.

“A transparent, technology-driven government is not a promise for tomorrow. It begins with how we listen to you today,” Atiku said.
