FULL LIST: Wike, Adeleke, Soludo Join Tinubu’s 2027 APC Campaign Council

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has expanded its presidential campaign council ahead of the 2027 general election, naming Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike; Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke; and Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo as campaign coordinators for their respective areas.

The expanded list is expected to be inaugurated by President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Wednesday.

Under the new arrangement, Wike will coordinate the party’s campaign activities in Rivers State and the FCT, while Soludo will oversee the campaign in Anambra and Adeleke will coordinate activities in Osun State.

The appointments have drawn attention to the political affiliations of the three figures. Wike is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Soludo belongs to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), while Adeleke secured re-election as Osun governor in August 2026 on the platform of the Accord Party.

The revised list also features significant changes to the council’s leadership structure. Senate President Godswill Akpabio, House of Representatives Speaker Tajudeen Abbas and Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq have been appointed deputy vice-chairmen I, II and III, respectively.

Former Zamfara State Governor Abdulaziz Yari, who was initially named director-general, has been removed from that position in the revised structure. Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni will serve as deputy director-general I for the North, while Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin has been appointed deputy director-general II for the region.

Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Benjamin Kalu have been named deputy director-generals I and II for the South, respectively.

Another major change is the appointment of all 32 APC governors as campaign coordinators in their respective states. The party’s governorship candidates in Oyo, Bauchi and Abia states — Sharafadeen Alli, Mohammed Abubakar and Chijioke Chukwu — have also been assigned coordination roles in their states.

The expanded council includes 14 advisers, among them former APC National Chairman Bisi Akande, former Ogun State Governor Segun Osoba, Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume, former Cross River South Senator Florence Ita-Giwa, former Ogun State Governor Ibikunle Amosun, former APC National Secretary Iyiola Omisore and former Minister of Finance Wale Edun.

The APC had released its initial campaign council list on August 22, with Akpabio, Abbas and Buni occupying key leadership positions alongside Yari.

The expanded council comes as political parties intensify preparations for the 2027 general election. According to the Independent National Electoral Commission’s revised timetable cited in the report, campaigns for the presidential and National Assembly elections began on August 19 and are scheduled to end on January 14, 2027.

Tinubu is expected to face competition from former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and Peter Obi of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), among other potential contenders.
