NSCIA General Assembly: Sultan’s Media Team Hails Unity, Welcomes New Leadership
The Media Team of the Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), His Eminence Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, has congratulated the Council and the Nigerian Muslim Ummah on the successful conclusion of its General Assembly.
In a statement signed by Prince Bashir Adefaka on Saturday, the Media Team commended the NSCIA leadership, delegates, Islamic scholars, traditional rulers, Islamic organisations and other stakeholders for their participation and contributions to the Assembly.
The Team described the successful General Assembly, held after several years without a full meeting of the body, as a significant milestone in the affairs of the Nigerian Muslim community.
It said the Assembly demonstrated the commitment of the NSCIA leadership to strengthening unity, consultation, institutional development and constructive engagement on issues affecting Islam and the Nigerian nation.
The Media Team also welcomed the emergence and appointment of new officers and members of various organs of the Council, saying the new leadership structure provides an opportunity to consolidate the gains of the NSCIA and deepen its service to the Muslim Ummah and the wider society.
It urged the newly appointed officers to discharge their responsibilities with humility, dedication, wisdom and a strong sense of service, in view of the broad mandate of the NSCIA as the umbrella body representing Muslims across Nigeria.
The Team further called on members and affiliates of the Council to sustain the spirit of unity demonstrated at the Assembly and continue working together to promote peaceful coexistence, mutual respect and national development.
According to the statement, the NSCIA under the leadership of the Sultan of Sokoto has consistently advocated dialogue, peaceful engagement and responsible participation in national affairs.
The Media Team expressed optimism that the renewed institutional momentum generated by the General Assembly would further strengthen the Council’s role in these areas.
It congratulated the entire NSCIA family on the successful Assembly and wished the newly constituted leadership and officers success as they assume their respective responsibilities.
The statement concluded with a prayer for Allah to guide the new officers, grant them wisdom and strengthen them in the service of Islam, the Nigerian Muslim Ummah and humanity.
