Kebbi State Former Deputy Governor Ibrahim Aliyu is Dead

Former Deputy Governor of Kebbi State, Alhaji Ibrahim Aliyu, is dead. His family confirmed that he passed away after a prolonged illness.

Ibrahim Aliyu served as the Deputy Governor of Kebbi State under former Governor Saidu Usman Dakingari from 2007 to 2015.

Reacting to the news, Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, expressed deep sorrow over the death of the former deputy governor, describing his passing as a moment of great sadness and an irreparable loss to the Yauri Emirate, Kebbi State, and Nigeria as a whole.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Yahaya Sarki, the governor said the death of Alhaji Ibrahim Aliyu, who reportedly died in Sokoto after a prolonged illness, had deprived Kebbi State of one of its most respected and distinguished leaders whose life was dedicated to selfless service, honesty, and the progress of society.

Governor Idris described the late Ibrahim Aliyu as a pious, humble, and patriotic leader who served Kebbi State diligently, first as a seasoned civil servant and later as Deputy Governor, leaving behind an enduring legacy of integrity, commitment, and exemplary public service.

“His invaluable contributions to the development of our state and his unwavering commitment to the welfare of our people will continue to inspire generations,” the governor said.

Governor Idris prayed to Almighty Allah (SWT) to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased, grant him Aljannatul Firdaus, and give his family, the Yauri Emirate, and the people of Kebbi State the strength and fortitude to bear the painful loss.
