The Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) has concluded its primary elections in Idanre Local Government Area of Ondo State, producing candidates for the 2027 general elections and setting the stage for its campaign across the constituency.

At the primary election held at Irowo Quarters, Odode Idanre, party members elected Hon. Sunday Falae as the APM candidate for Ondo Central Senatorial District, Hon. Olujide Olurankinse as the candidate for Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency, and Hon. Oluwatosin Blessing Eniola (Enitee) as the party’s flagbearer for the Ondo State House of Assembly, Idanre Constituency.

The exercise, which attracted party members and supporters from across the local government area, was conducted peacefully and was reportedly monitored by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies.

Party leaders described the primary as transparent and credible, expressing confidence in the ability of the candidates to compete effectively in the 2027 elections.

Speaking after the exercise, party chieftain Hon. Jerome Odesanmi commended members for their commitment and turnout despite the short notice given before the election. He urged party faithful to remain united and work towards securing victory for the party.

Similarly, Hon. Mayokun Akinmoladun described the primary election as one of the most peaceful and litigation-free exercises conducted in recent times, noting that the emergence of the candidates provides the party with a strong platform ahead of the polls.

Following his emergence as the party’s House of Assembly candidate, Eniola thanked delegates and party leaders for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to provide effective representation if elected.

He unveiled his campaign slogan, “A Breath of Fresh Air,” promising to focus on youth development, educational advancement, entrepreneurship support, and community empowerment.

According to him, priority areas of his legislative agenda would include scholarship programmes, educational grants, skills acquisition initiatives, and support for small and medium-scale enterprises aimed at improving the economic well-being of residents.

In a move seen as part of his consultations ahead of the election, Eniola led a delegation of party leaders and supporters to the palace of the Aladeokun of Alade Idanre, HRM Oba Ayodele Adesoga Adegbogun Akinnadeju, to seek royal blessings and guidance.

Addressing the monarch and members of the palace council, Eniola reaffirmed his commitment to serving the people of Idanre and pledged not to betray the trust placed in him by constituents.

Introducing the candidate to the royal father, APM Chairman, Elder Adetuyi Odunayo, highlighted Eniola’s record of community service and humanitarian interventions, describing him as a grassroots leader committed to development.

During the visit, HRH Oba Adesile Aderemi, the Apetokun-elect of Ipoba Idanre, commended Eniola for his contributions to community development and his respect for traditional institutions.

The monarchs offered prayers for wisdom, protection, and success throughout the electioneering period.

Political observers describe Eniola as a businessman, entrepreneur, and philanthropist with interests spanning oil and gas, real estate, automobile trading, agriculture, and hospitality.

He is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Henitee Investment Nigeria Limited and has academic qualifications from institutions in Nigeria, Canada, Poland, and the United States.

Through the Eniola Homeplace Foundation, he has sponsored scholarships, educational support programmes, grants for market women, free JAMB registration initiatives, medical assistance schemes, and welfare interventions for widows and vulnerable groups across Idanre.

Residents and community leaders who spoke on his emergence said his investments in education, youth empowerment, and social welfare have earned him widespread goodwill within the constituency.

With preparations for the 2027 elections gradually gathering momentum, political observers believe the emergence of the APM candidates has introduced a new dynamic into the political landscape of Idanre and the wider Ondo Central Senatorial District, setting the stage for an increasingly competitive electoral contest.
