The management of BUA Cement Plc has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting corps members serving in Sokoto State, promising improved welfare packages and employment opportunities for those who demonstrate exceptional performance during their service year.

This assurance was given when the Corporate Manager, Alhaji Sada Suleiman, alongside the Director of Human Resource Management, Abdulrasheed Bode, received the NYSC State Coordinator, Mr Tyoyer Gabriel Ter, during a courtesy visit.

The company’s management noted that corps members posted to the organisation remain a valuable part of its workforce and pledged to further strengthen welfare support to enhance their service experience. It added that outstanding corps members who distinguish themselves are often considered for retention upon completion of their national service.

Earlier, the NYSC State Coordinator explained that the visit formed part of his familiarisation tour aimed at engaging key stakeholders of the scheme across the state. He said the engagement was also to explore ways of deepening the existing cordial relationship between the National Youth Service Corps and the company.

Mr Gabriel Ter commended the management of BUA Cement for its consistent support, describing the firm as one of the major employers of corps members in Sokoto State. He further noted that feedback received since he assumed office indicates that corps members serving with the company are treated with dignity and respect; an effort he described as commendable.

While appreciating the company’s past contributions, including donations of cement, chairs, and financial support to previous administrations, the Coordinator appealed for additional assistance to support NYSC activities in the state.

He specifically requested more donations of chairs and sought approval for the scheme to directly procure cement from the company for project execution when necessary.
