Coalition Urges Support for Gbajabiamila, Dismisses PFIPC, PEAC Allegations as Distraction

A coalition of some prominent Nigerians has called on the public to refrain from what it described as unverified attacks against the Chief of Staff to the President, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, urging Nigerians to support government efforts aimed at national development.

The group, comprising US-based public affairs commentator Kofo Williams, Chairman of Concerned Nigerians in Diaspora UK Abanikanda Olumoro, Convener of the Concerned Fulani People of Nigeria Alhaji Ibrahim Barkindo Chubado, and Assembly of Lagos Youths leader Comrade Lasisi Robert, made the appeal in a joint statement.

The statement was issued in response to a video circulating on YouTube linking Gbajabiamila to controversies surrounding the purported Presidential Fiscal and Investment Policy Commission (PFIPC) and budgetary allocations involving the Presidential Economic Advisory Council (PEAC).

According to the coalition, the allegations against the Chief of Staff are unverified and appear intended to tarnish his reputation and distract him from his responsibilities in supporting the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The group noted that questions over budgetary allocations should be directed to the National Assembly, which has the constitutional responsibility of considering and approving the national budget, rather than singling out an individual without evidence.

They stressed that accountability must be based on verified facts and due process, warning that speculation and misinformation could undermine public confidence in government institutions.

The coalition further urged Nigerians to embrace responsible public discourse, saying constructive criticism should be guided by facts and aimed at strengthening governance rather than creating unnecessary controversies.
