In a major boost to agricultural development and food security, the member representing Gada/Goronyo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Bashir Usmanu Gorau, has distributed 55 tractors to farmers across the constituency.

Speaking at the event, Gorau noted that agriculture remains the backbone of the constituency’s economy, stressing that about 95 percent of the people are farmers. He explained that this informed his decision to prioritize agricultural development from the onset of his tenure.

According to him, initiatives aimed at improving farming activities will continue alongside efforts to enhance education, security, road infrastructure and other sectors critical to the well being of the people.

“We have made it a priority to complete all the projects we initiated during this first term before the expiration of our mandate. By the grace of God, if we are given a second term in 2027, we will continue from where we stopped” he said.

Rep. Gorau urged beneficiaries to make proper use of the tractors to improve farming activities and increase food production in the area.

He emphasized the importance of self reliance, saying the people of Gada and Goronyo are predominantly farmers and should continue to support one another in strengthening agricultural activities and reducing dependence on external assistance.

The lawmaker also prayed for success and victory of his political associates ahead of the 2027 elections, including Atiku Abubakar as President of Nigeria and Munir Dan’iya as Governor of Sokoto State.

He concluded by expressing appreciation to all guests and stakeholders who attended the ceremony marking the distribution of the 55 agricultural tractors.
