BREAKING: Obi, Kwankwaso Join NDC After Leaving ADC

Former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, and former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, are reportedly at the centre of a fresh political development following the emergence of a viral video suggesting their entry into the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).

The footage, which began circulating on Sunday, shows both politicians receiving what appear to be party membership cards during a registration process. Kwankwaso was seen receiving his card first, followed by Obi, in a sequence interpreted by observers as a symbolic formalisation of their alleged defection.

The development comes at a time when political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections are gradually gaining momentum, with opposition figures exploring possible alliances and new platforms.

Earlier on the same day, the two leaders reportedly held a private meeting with key figures of the NDC at the Abuja residence of former Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson, who is said to be a leading figure within the party.

The meeting, held in Guzape, is believed to be part of ongoing consultations aimed at forging a united opposition front capable of challenging the ruling establishment in the next electoral cycle.

Eyewitness accounts indicate that Obi and Kwankwaso arrived at the venue in the early evening to a warm reception from supporters, particularly members of the Obi-Kwankwaso Movement, who chanted slogans in solidarity.
