FG Directs Abuja Secretariat Workers to Stay Home Over APC Convention
The Federal Government has directed civil servants working within the Federal Secretariat in Abuja to work from home on Friday, March 27, 2026, ahead of the national convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The directive was conveyed in a circular signed by Abdul Garba, Permanent Secretary, Service Welfare Office, on behalf of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.
According to the circular, all access roads leading to and around the Federal Secretariat Complex, Phases I, II and III, will be closed from Friday, March 27, to Saturday, March 28, 2026.
The government explained that the measure is due to the use of the Eagle Square as the venue for the APC national convention.
As part of the directive, all personnel working within the affected Federal Secretariat phases, as well as those at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, are to remain off-site and carry out their duties remotely on the specified date.
Heads of ministries, departments, and agencies have also been instructed to ensure strict compliance and communicate the directive to all staff.
The APC convention, scheduled to hold on Friday at Eagle Square, is expected to attract party leaders, delegates, and supporters from across the country.
