City Boy Movement Says Kaduna Rally Turnout Reflects Successful Mobilisation

The City Boy Movement (CBM) has attributed the large turnout of young Nigerians at the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign flag-off in Kaduna to its sustained grassroots mobilisation and sensitisation efforts in support of President Bola Tinubu.

The Director-General of the Movement, Hon. Francis Oluwatosin Shoga, said the participation of youths at Saturday’s rally demonstrated their growing interest in the administration’s development agenda and their willingness to contribute to Nigeria’s political and economic future.

In a statement titled “Beyond the Road: Unlocking Opportunities, Empowering Young Nigerians, and Building a Prosperous Future,” Shoga said the Movement’s grassroots engagements, including its street mobilisation campaign in Kano, had contributed to building enthusiasm among young Nigerians.

He noted that the Movement was committed not only to mobilising political support for Tinubu but also to educating young people about government policies and helping them identify opportunities for economic empowerment.

Shoga also welcomed the commissioning of an 81-kilometre section of the Abuja–Kaduna highway during the campaign flag-off, describing it as an important step towards improving transportation infrastructure and boosting economic activities in the North-West.

According to him, the road corridor connecting Abuja, Kaduna, Zaria and Kano could stimulate agricultural development, industrial growth, regional trade, private investment and employment opportunities.

He explained that improved road connectivity would help farmers and traders access markets more easily, reduce transportation difficulties and encourage investments in logistics, manufacturing and food processing.

“The objective is not simply to build infrastructure. It is to create the conditions in which people can build businesses, earn sustainable incomes, create jobs, and improve their standard of living,” Shoga said.

However, the CBM director-general stressed that infrastructure development must be supported by effective security measures, intelligence gathering, reliable electricity and policies capable of attracting investment.

He maintained that securing major transportation routes was essential to ensuring that communities and businesses could fully benefit from infrastructure projects.

Ahead of the 2027 general elections, Shoga said the Movement would intensify its grassroots mobilisation and public enlightenment campaigns across the country, while encouraging peaceful participation in the democratic process.

He commended supporters who participated in the Kaduna rally and the Kano mobilisation activities, saying their enthusiasm would strengthen the Movement’s nationwide engagement efforts.

Shoga further urged young Nigerians to evaluate the administration’s achievements and challenges, develop relevant skills, embrace entrepreneurship and make informed political choices.

He encouraged youths to take an active role in decisions affecting their future rather than remain passive observers of the country’s political and economic development.

The CBM director-general reaffirmed the Movement’s commitment to promoting an informed, enterprising and responsible generation of young Nigerians, stressing that the ultimate measure of infrastructure development should be its impact on employment, business growth and the living standards of ordinary citizens.
