Eid-el-Fitr: Police Deploy Operatives Across Sokoto

The Sokoto State Police Command has announced the deployment of security operatives across the state ahead of the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations to ensure public safety and peaceful festivities.

In a security advisory issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Ahmad Rufa’i, all Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), and Tactical Commanders have been directed to intensify patrols, conduct intelligence-driven operations, and maintain strong visible policing presence across key locations.

The Command warned residents to be mindful of common festive-period crimes such as phone snatching, pickpocketing, and traffic violations. Parents and guardians were also advised to closely monitor their children to prevent reckless behaviour during the celebrations.

Members of the public were encouraged to promptly report any suspicious movements or security concerns to the nearest police station or through the Command Control Centre line: 08026451719.

According to the statement, the Police are working in collaboration with other security agencies, community leaders, and relevant stakeholders to sustain peace and order statewide.

The Command further extended Eid-el-Fitr greetings to Muslim faithful and all residents, assuring them of its continued commitment to safeguarding lives and property throughout the festive period.
