Rep. Abdussamad Dasuki Dumps PDP, Joins ADC

A member of the House of Representatives, Abdussamad Dasuki, has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

In a letter dated March 15, 2026, addressed to the PDP Ward Chairman of Dogon Daji/Salah Ward in Tambuwal Local Government Area of Sokoto State, and which was also made available to the GaskiyaCast Correspondent in Sokoto, the lawmaker representing Kebbe/Tambuwal Federal Constituency said his resignation from the party takes immediate effect.

Dasuki explained that his decision was prompted by persistent leadership crises within the PDP, which he said have made it increasingly difficult for the party to function effectively as a credible political platform and for committed members to contribute meaningfully.

He expressed appreciation for the opportunities he had during his time in the PDP and the relationships built while serving in the party.

Following his resignation, the federal lawmaker announced that he has joined the African Democratic Congress, describing the party as a viable political alternative for Nigerians ahead of the 2027 general elections and beyond.

Abdussamad Dasuki currently represents Kebbe/Tambuwal Federal Constituency and serves as Chairman of the House Committee on Marine and Blue Economy/Shipping Services.

The development comes amid ongoing political realignments involving allies of former Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal.
