Trump Orders Five-day Pause on Strikes Again Iran Amid Talks

U.S. President Donald Trump has announced a five-day suspension of planned military strikes targeting Iranian power plants and energy facilities, citing encouraging diplomatic engagements with Iran.

In a statement shared on his platform, Truth Social, Trump disclosed that Washington and Tehran have held what he described as “very good and productive” discussions over the past two days, aimed at resolving ongoing hostilities in the Middle East.

According to him, the decision to delay the strikes followed the positive tone and constructive nature of the talks, which are expected to continue throughout the week. He noted that the U.S. Department of Defense has been directed to halt all planned attacks on Iran’s energy infrastructure during this period.

The temporary pause, however, remains conditional on the outcome of the ongoing negotiations.

The latest development comes against the backdrop of escalating tensions in the region since February 28, when the United States and Israel reportedly launched a joint military offensive on Iran. The conflict has led to significant casualties, with more than 1,300 people reported killed, including Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei.

In retaliation, Iran has carried out a series of drone and missile attacks targeting Israel, as well as countries such as Jordan and Iraq, alongside Gulf states hosting U.S. military bases. The attacks have resulted in casualties, infrastructure damage, and disruptions to global markets and air travel.

Gaskiyacast reports, that Observers say the pause in military action may provide a critical window for diplomacy, as the international community watches closely for signs of de-escalation in the volatile region.
